Counselling offers the individual the opportunity to talk through any difficulties they may be experiencing; you can explore feelings and thoughts in a safe, non-judgmental way.
My philosophy is not to give advice or tell what to do but rather to work with you on your concerns or issues that you bring to counselling.
Is counselling for me?
The initial consultation is free and lasts around 30 minutes. This will provide an opportunity for us to meet each other and to explore whether counselling is for you.
It would also enable both of us to see if we are able to work together. If you decide to move forward and engage in the counselling process an appointment would then be made. A counselling session lasts for 50 minutes.
Ethics and Confidentiality
Being a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psycotherapy (BACP) I am bound by it’s “Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psycotherapy”. A copy of the code of ethics is available upon request. Consequently I have regular supervision to ensure my practice is at the required standard.
I am fully committed to preserving your confidentiality during counselling sessions however there are exceptions which I will discuss with you in detail during our initial consultation.
